Three ways to stay productive as school starts again…

Hi people! How are you doing? How has your week been? If you haven’t already noticed, I made some changes to this blog. I know, I am always making changes:) It is all for the best anyway. I changed the name of this blog and I also changed the theme and that’s all. Anyway, my week has been okay so far. I have been very productive this week and I really thank God for that. In this blog post, I will be sharing three of my secrets to being productive with y’all. Stay on and keep reading!

Honestly, I really understand how being productive can be very difficult sometimes but no worries because we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Sometimes, we get very lazy or we just procrastinate everything we need to do out of habit. I hope these tips will help you to be more productive.

First, write a list of everything you have to do for the day( make a to-do list basically)

I know you’ve probably heard this one million times. I get it but the reason why it is being repeated every time is because it is actually really helpful. When you make a list of all the things you have to do, it motivates you to really do those things. You also remember that there are some things you need to do. There are some things you need to achieve. This moves you to get moving and start working. Also, the thing about making a to-do list is that, when you don’t do the things on that list, it makes you feel guilt. You feel guilty that you did not do what you were supposed to do. Y’all just really need to try it first. Just give it a trial and you’ll see that it is actually very helpful.

Second, keep your phone away from you for some time

This one works for me a lot and I am sure, it will work for you too. I know that our phones is one major reason why we never do the things we are supposed to do. The phone is a really big distraction and if you do not try to keep it away from you sometimes, I am afraid you’ll never get anything done. One thing I also know is that most of us are really addicted to our phones and we are worried about how we would keep it away from us. Don’t worry, you can definitely do it if I can do it. I can almost say that I am addicted to my phone as well but whenever I want to work or have work to do, I always make sure to put my phone where I cannot reach it. This has helped me to get a ton of work done. This method is so helpful, just give it a trial.

Lastly, think of your future and the dreams you badly want to achieve

This one is probably the best because it really motivates you to get up and do something. Please note that I am not telling y’all to start worrying too much about the future or start panicking, just put it all in God’s hand. What I am saying is that whenever you get lazy or start to procrastinate, just think of where you want to be in the future. This pushes you to start working and be productive because it helps you realize that in order to have that amazing future you desire, you have to work hard. Without hard work, you won’t achieve what you want. So, thinking of those dreams that you badly want to achieve moves you to be hard working. Just try it out and I know y’all will come back to give testimonies.

One last thing I want to mention is that you should always put God first in everything you do. Before carrying out any of these steps, make sure that you’ve already communicated with God first. God gives us guidance, so He helps us deal with any issues we have. He also has the answers to all our problems, hence why it is very important to always go to Him first.

I really hope y’all try out these things I have told y’all and I really hope it works for all of you. Thanks for reading! Bye:)

Why do most non-Americans glorify America??

Hello my people! How have you been? How is it going with y’all? This week has been rough for me but in all, we give thanks to God and we move! I have not really been up to a lot of things. I have been reading, and preparing to go back to school. I have also been watching this series on Netflix and it is really nice, although it is kinda scary. Let’s just get into today’s topic.

To be honest, I have been wanting to write about today’s topic for a long time. I mean being a non-American who used to glorify America a lot and who moved to America because of how it’s being glorified, I sure have a lot to say/write about. Y’all are about to get premium gist!! Get your drink and your snack because you are in for a lot today:)

Firstly, the main reason why I think America is so attractive to a lot of non-Americans is because we think America is full of opportunities. It really cannot be denied that America is somewhat filled with opportunities but not really tho. If you have not been to America before, the opportunities you hear about would be free education, free healthcare, job opportunities, good security, good housing, and many other opportunities. I am sorry but this is the part where I tell y’all that most of these things are lies. America is not a land flowing with milk and honey. Nahh

There really is no free education. The only education that is free is the education before you get to college, like high school and below(mostly). Once you get to college in America, you have to pay even more than you would have paid for college in your own country. To counter this, people would say that the education in America is better. Hear me out, the education in America is not better at all. It is just that the government takes better measures regarding education, like paying their teachers regularly and giving out scholarships. To even qualify for some of these scholarships is another topic for another day. In all, America has good teachers, so does every other country. America is not really better in that aspect.

For the free healthcare, who told you so?? Healthcare ain’t free here at all, well except you have a good insurance. If you do not have insurance, which majority of people do not have, you have to pay for your own healthcare. If you see the doctor, you have to pay. To get drugs at a pharmacy, you have to pay. For surgery or any other procedure, you have to pay. I mean you would expect America to have free healthcare because it is a top country but it doesn’t. The sad news there is that a lot of people die because they cannot afford how much it costs to see the doctor. In all, it is well sha!

Honestly, you only get a good and amazing job if you schooled or are schooling in America. If not, you have to do menial jobs like security at a mall, cleaner, e.t.c. Getting a job is also not easy and somewhat stressful if you are an immigrant. Though it is not really easy to get a job, a lot of jobs actually pay well. The dollar rate is pretty high, so if you convert the money you earn in dollars to the currency used in your own country, it is a lot of money for the most part; that is a plus. Also, housing is not cheap at all. If you come here and you are not rich already or have some money at hand, you would have to squat with a friend or relative of yours at first because it costs a lot of money to rent a house. If you start working, as time goes on, money would start coming and you probably would now be able to afford rent.

One other thing I want to mention is that America is the place where you become fully aware of yourself. Like you do not become black until you get to America or you do not become Hispanic until you get to America. This basically means that America is full of different kinds of people, so you become fully aware of the fact that you are a black person or that you are brown. In your own country, it doesn’t matter if you are black, nor does it matter if you are brown but in America, it matters.

You also become fully aware of different things that you never knew could happen. Like bullying, racism, and many more. America, in short, opens your eyes. You see a lot of things and you learn a lot of things. If you are not careful, America will change you. It will change how you view things, it will impact your behavior, and many more. Although change is not a bad thing but if you’re not mindful, it can be a really bad thing.

Please note that the purpose of this post is not to shame America or hate on America. America is a nice place for the most part. There are actually some nice opportunities here, especially for children, teenagers, and young adults. America is also a good place if you want to go on a self-discovery journey. Changing scenery/location can help you to learn more about yourself. In all, do your research before moving to another country, it is very important! Also, if you are moving to America, know that you really have to be hardworking and have faith in God that your coming to America would not be in vain.

What I learned about Bible study(the Word of God)

Hi people! How is it going? I really hope it’s going great for y’all. For me, this week went by so freaking fast but thank God, I was able to do everything I wanted to do. I have not really been up to anything like that; I have been listening to music, watching YouTube and Netflix and I have also been working on getting closer to God๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š. Anyway, I really hope and pray you learn something from today’s blog post. Let’s go on!

For a really long time, I struggled with Bible study. I never knew what to read in the Bible or where to start. I used to use devotionals on the Bible app on my phone but it was just not working for me. I felt really bad about this because I am always telling people to do Bible study and all but I was not doing it. I felt like a liar, kind of. It felt like I was cheating people in a way. I was just in a bad place. Anyway, things changed or should I say, things have changed. God saw I was struggling and He spoke to me and He told me what to do.

Let me just say that God is so great! God asked me why I did not ask Him for help if I was struggling so much. This really just turned things around because it made me realize how a lot of us are like that. When we are in trouble or in the midst of a problem, we forget that we have God. We get carried away by our problems and we do not remember to ask God for help. Please don’t let this be the case for you.

So, I asked God for help and He helped me. He told me that why don’t I just study my Bible directly and do away with devotionals if they are not helping. God just told me how to solve my problem but I was still struggling. I was still struggling with where to start reading from in the Bible. I asked God for help again and He told me to go to another Christian for help. I went to @lanumilois on Instagram and asked her about where I should start reading from in the Bible.

Going to her really opened my eyes. She made me understand that I was going about the whole thing the wrong way. At this point let me say that, my goal was and had been to read every book in the Bible. While this is not a bad thing, Sister Lanumi helped me to understand that this should not be my goal. My goal and every other Christian’s goal should be to know God through his Word according to Sister Lanumi.

In all, what I learned is that we should not be too focused on reading the whole Bible because if we do that, we would not focus on what the Bible truly is for. The Bible contains the Word of God and the Word of God is God Himself according to John chapter 1, verse 1-5. Our focus when studying the Bible should be to know God. To understand who He is and understand everything about Him. The Bible has so much things that we need to know about as Christians, hence why it is very important to read the Bible. Also, you should not just read your Bible because you are being forced to, be intentional about it, knowing that as you are reading , you will be discovering more things about the Word and the purpose of the Word.

On the question of where to start reading from in the Bible. That is why we have the Holy Spirit, ask the Holy spirit for help. The Holy Spirit was sent by God to help you. Ask Him for guidance and He will answer you. Also, pray to God and communicate with Him. Talk to Him about whatever questions you have and He will surely answer you. God should always be the first person you go to before you start worrying about anything. I pray that God helps us to see that He is always here for us in Jesus name. Amen!

I am going to leave y’all with a picture of the Bible today because Bible study is very very important and you need to do it often as well. I pray God helps us in Jesus name. Amen! Bye:)

..On the issue of rape and sexual immoralities..

Hello! How are you doing? How is life going? I really really hope everything is going great with y’all and if not, don’t stop trusting in God. For me, I have just been alright(nothing much). Also, I have really been trying to maintain my healthy lifestyle because the temptation has been A LOT! I also finished re-reading one of my favorite books, which is “Americanah” by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and I just cannot wait to write a blogpost about it:) Anyway, let’s get on to the matter at hand.

If you follow me on Instagram, then you already know what today’s blogpost is about. I talked about it briefly in the caption of my latest insta post. So, rape is the matter at hand. I have been thinking about rape a lot in the past few days, trying to make sense of it and understand why it even happens. In all my thoughts, man I have been so angry and exhausted because I just do not understand how some people do not see and understand that it is extremely wrong to force someone to have sex with you.

Like just thinking about the little kids especially, who get raped almost on a daily basis. These kids are just kids, they are JUST KIDS. It is so freaking inhumane to do this to them and literally anybody else. What do these kids even know and due to a person’s stupidity, they have to go through freaking trauma from a really young age. Honestly, I am so angry that I do not even know how to put it into words. I just pray that God takes charge over this issue because it is really really infuriating and heartbreaking.

What is the other explanation for rape, if not an insane addiction to sex that you would do anything to get it and also lack of self-control. There’s so much more to life than sex. Sex is not everything! Like just imagine, you are trying to pleasure yourself at the expense of someone else’s health/life. It is very very wicked and painful. It is literally five minutes of pleasure for you and a lifetime of pain for the victim. Raping someone is intentionally hurting them, can’t you see it? Just put yourself in that person’s shoes, do you see it now? Or imagine the same was done to your girlfriend/boyfriend or child, just freaking imagine!!

It is just really really sad because people don’t even feel safe going out anymore. People have to buy different weapons for self defense and protection. That has become the new normal and it is not supposed to be like that! Humans are supposed to protect each other, to help each other but it is the exact opposite. It is just like people do not care about other people’s feelings and emotions anymore. People don’t really care about being humane anymore and it is heartbreaking.

Also, do we all know what God says about sex?? Let me brief y’all real quick. 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 vs 3-5 says, “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God..” According to this Bible verse, we all should know how to control our bodies..this greatly speaks to people who force other people to have sex with them.. Learn how to control yourself in holiness, do not go after lust like people who do not know God. God doesn’t want any kind of sexual immorality; while sex is good according to God, God doesn’t want it to be impure. Sexual immorality is sin and sin is filth-this is against God!

This is why it is also really important to give your life to God. Become born again, surrender your life to Christ, ask for the Holy Spirit and start to live a Christ-like life. If not, you would be doing things that you are not supposed to do. Things that are against the Bible and things that are just plainly WRONG! With God in your life and also with the Holy spirit, you receive guidance. You receive knowledge and you gain understanding. You are able to flee/abstain from every sexual immorality with the help of God. I pray that God guides our hearts, opens our eyes, and help us to understand what is right and what is wrong in Jesus name. Amen!

The Animal Rights Movement

Hello! I hope y’all are doing okay. This week has been pure cruise/vibes for me. I have not been doing anything fun or interesting. I have been watching a lot of New York City Apartment tours on YouTube(y’all don’t even want to know why). I have also been listening to a lot of Afrobeat and Gospel music. In all, I am just chilling. Anyway, let’s get to the business of the day, shall we?

So, Wednesday, August 12 was International Youth Day. The United Nations even had a theme for it. The theme was, “Youth Engagement for Global Action”. Let me just say that I absolutely loved this theme because it was just so fitting for the time period we are in and how things are going in the world right now. Moving on, my “mentor/role model” held a Zoom meeting where we talked about some of the global issues that are really popular/talked about in 2020. One of those topics was the Animal Rights Movement.

This topic was very very interesting to me because I had never really thought about the Animal Rights movement. Yeah, I know what it is about, which is protecting the rights of animals against use as experimental objects and many more. There was three of us in the meeting and we all had somewhat similar thoughts about it. For me, I had to have a rethink and actually think deeply about how and why the Animal Rights Movement is important. Please note that I am not disregarding this movement, it’s just that everyone has something that they are passionate about and it might not be the Animal Rights Movement for some people.

Anyway, one of the things we talked about in regard to the Animal Rights Movement is the use of animals as experimental objects. While I get why people are so against animals being used for experiments and all, I am also really confused as to what else would be used for experiments if not animals. I mean, scientists can’t exactly experiment on humans or plants. Well, if there is something else to experiment on other than humans and animals, I think the people advocating for the Animal Rights Movement definitely have a point. If not, then I do not even know what to tell y’all that are against the use of animals as experimental objects.

Another thing we talked about is how extreme and judgmental some animal rights advocates can be. These people need to understand that not everybody would like to be vegan/vegetarian. And it should be okay if someone does not want to be vegan/vegetarian. Some vegans/vegetarians literally curse you out or start an argument with you just because you are not vegan/vegetarian. To be honest, not being vegan/vegetarian is an unreasonable reason to hate on anyone. I actually understand it from the point of view of vegans/vegetarians but at the same time, y’all need to chill. Even if you want someone to become vegan/vegetarian, you don’t need to start judging them wrongly or giving them bad eyes, talk to them calmly and let them understand it from your own point of view. At the end, if they refuse to go vegan/vegetarian, that is okay, just leave them alone. Yeah, that’s all we talked about regarding the Animal Rights movement in the Zoom meeting we had.

Okay, now for me, I do not even know if I would identify as an animal rights advocate. I am in the middle of the argument/on the fence about it. You know what, I actually would love to go vegan/vegetarian. Fun fact, I really tried going vegan early this year but it just did not work out for me. Now, I just eat a lot of vegan products but my entire diet is not vegan. Hopefully, sometime in the future, I would have gained a lot of self control and go vegan fully. Till then I will keep praying about it. Also, another thing that I want to mention is that a lot of people really hate seeing animals being treated badly, brutalized, tortured or abused but most people are just not really into the Animal Rights movement. Bye y’all!

Before I leave y’all, let me just tell you a fun fact about me. I really really LOVE plants:) Okay, bye for real now! I hope y’all have a nice week ahead.

Also, please leave a comment about your thoughts on the Animal Rights movement. Do not be shy or scared, this place is a judgment-free zone!

The truth about my blog..

Hello people! How is your week going? I really hope it is going good so far. For me, I have been really really bored. I have just been watching movies on YouTube and Netflix, as well as reading and listening to music. Also, school starts again in about two weeks and I am so ready! Man, I just want to be done with school already. Anyway, I am already sharing too much information. Let us get into today’s post:)

So, I know that a lot of you would be very very confused about today’s topic but I promise you it’s not complicated. I am simply going to be telling y’all about the truth of this blog. Just keep reading, it gets better and clearer.

Currently, I am re-reading the book, “AMERICANAH” by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, which is one of my all-time favorites. The main character, Ifemelu is a blogger. She is very bold and fearless in her writing. She writes a lot about race because she is a black woman in New York, who has gone through so many things and has seen a lot due to her race. I really love the way she writes and how she is very real in her blog. She is not trying to please people with her writing, she is mainly putting her thoughts and opinions out there. Seeing the way she writes and is very real with her readers really moved me.

It actually got me thinking. I thought about my blog and how I am trying so hard to be a people pleaser. I am not writing what I really want to write. I am writing what I think people would love to see and read. If you know me, you would know that I am a very deep person. I have a lot of stuff running through my mind and I would love to write about those things. My blog is like my little space on the internet where I let my readers explore my mind. I want to write about all the things in my mind. It might get a little personal but not really because I am not that type of person that exposes myself. I just want to write about all the thoughts that run all over my head. The thoughts that keep me up at night. The thoughts that make me lose concentration while doing something or talking to someone. All those interesting and deep thoughts. Also know that I am still going to be writing about God and my faith/Christianity. It is just going to be more real!๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—

Another thing that moved me to review my blog is the book, “So You want to talk about Race” by Ijeoma Oluo(..ps, I am really really loving this book so far..) Ijeoma is a blogger. She is also a black woman in America who has seen a lot and has gone through so much because of her race. In her blog, she talks about racial discrimination and other race topics that a lot of people shy away from. I love Ijeoma’s boldness and realness. She is not just writing what people want to see. She is writing about something so dear to her. She is putting herself out there. She is not trying to please anybody with her blog. I must say, Ijeoma is an amazing woman.

In all, in case y’all did not get the memo yet, things are going to change on this blog.๐Ÿ˜Š I am tired of being a people pleaser and I am done with trying to write what I think people would like to read. This is growth for me and I am also thankful to God who also showed me that I need to stop trying to please people. This blog is about to be ON FIRE!! With a big smile on my face, I welcome y’all into the mind of Bee.๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Also, I decided to start uploading a new blogpost twice a week. I will be putting out a new blogpost on Wednesdays and Fridays, so help me God. I know y’all want to know the full gist behind this. Iโ€™ve got you. So, if you did not already know, I love writing. I thought that since I love writing, why am I only uploading a blogpost once a week?? To be honest, the reason why I only upload once a week is because I literally do not know what to write about. I am always thinking of a topic that people would want to read but that is over now! Y’all are going to be blessed by me twice a week now๐Ÿ˜œ That is all for today. Thank you everyone for your support! Bye:)

This picture is literally how I feel right now. I feel good letting it all out. Please do not stop supporting me and do not stop reading. It gets so much better from here!

Why is trusting God so important?

Hello. Good morning/Good afternoon/Good evening/Good night(Just go with whichever works for you) I hope you have all had a nice week so far. If you did not have a really nice week, do not worry, there are better days coming for you and just trust that God is in charge and know that He didnโ€™t forget you. Anyway, let’s get into today’s topic. Yayy!!(It felt so weird typing this because it felt like I was a cheerleader holding a pompom-I already told y’all that i have a weird sense of humor) Just keep reading:)

What exactly is Trust?

So, according to Google, “trusting someone means that you think they are reliable, you have confidence in them and you feel safe with them physically and emotionally”. A very simple definition of trust is having firm belief in someone or something. When you trust someone, you are able to rely on them for literally everything, and you have so much confidence in them. You do not doubt them at all because of the very very firm and strong belief you have in them. Also, as seen in the definition at the beginning, when you trust someone, you feel very safe with them because you know that no matter what, they are your person and they will take care of you. To be honest, it is really hard to trust people these days because everyone has their own character and behavior but they are still some pretty trustworthy people out there.

What does the Bible say about Trust?

Just in case you are not aware of what the Bible is, the Bible is a Holy book for Christians. Anyway, in the Bible, there are so many places where trusting God is mentioned and the Bible also mentions what we get from trusting God(ps..when something is mentioned severally in the Bible, it means that itโ€™s very important..) I am just going to choose two Bible verses that talk about trust and then explain to y’all. The first Bible verse is

โ€œBut blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.โ€ Jeremiah 17 vs 7-8(NIV)
. This bible verse emphasizes on what happens to people who trust in God. Trusting in God brings you a lot of blessings and it puts you in a good place, meaning that you do not worry about anything. When you rely on God and have confidence in what He is able to do, then you are secured for life. You literally have nothing to worry about because you already know that God has your back.

The second Bible verse is Isiah 26 vs 3(NLT)-

“You will keep in perfect peace
    all who trust in you,
all whose thoughts are fixed on you!”
This verse speaks on peace. It tells us that if we trust in God, He is going to bring peace into our lives. In case y’all do not understand, a peaceful mind and life is what everybody wants and is hoping for. You get that peace just by trusting in God and relying on God. You get peace of mind/ a peaceful life by having confidence in God and all His promises according to the Bible. When you have peace, you do not worry about anything, everything is going well for you and you have a great life, all these you get by putting your trust in Jesus Christ!

What I have noticed is that even for a lot of people who say they are Christians, they still do not have trust in God. They still doubt God’s powers whenever they are going through something or need something. They still do not have confidence in God and His being. A lot of people do not know this but the problem of a lot of Christians is having trust in God. A lot of people pray without trust in God and they expect their prayers to be answered when they do not have firm belief in God and are veryyyyy doubtful about God answering their prayers. How can you be doubtful about God and then ask Him for something in prayer?? I am very sure we do not ask our friends or anybody for something when we do not know or are not sure that they will do it. We only go to people we rely on to do things for us, DO THAT WITH GOD!!

In short, we all need to do better with trusting God. The thing is that God sees everything that is happening to you, He sees everything you are going through, He just wants to see that you believe that He knows about your situation. He just wants to see how much confident you are about Him coming through for you and helping you out. Trusting in God is very very important and that is what God needs from you. We all need to stop expecting things from God when we do not even have firm belief in Him, His powers, and His promises. Just stop doubting God and put full trust in Him.*drops mic* Bye๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—
